My Son Asks, Did You Know...?

A recent quote from Toby, shouted to me from his room where he's playing with Legos:

"Mom, Dark Vader is real! And alive! He's in Minnesota. He lives in a mall, I think."

And now the context:

Toby's new fascination, caught from his preschool friend, Eric, is Star-Wars Legos. The only thing he said he wanted for his birthday was Star Wars Legos. Since his birthday he's been setting up battle after battle with his new Legos. Eric came back from a summer trip to the Mall of America and a visit to LegoLand and shared that little tidbit of information with Toby. Except Toby calls him "Dark Vader" and thinks that he's the main good guy in charge of killing all the bad guys. We haven't been willing to let him watch any of the movies to sort that out.

And along those lines, a recent dinner guest posed this question: which Star Wars movie do we start with? This may not seem like too big a deal to many (I admit, it was lost on me for the most part), but the die-hard fan who asked the question gave us a topic to mull over.
